Her focus shifted from kickboxing to traditional boxing. La la Mariem grew up in Holland, and now lives, trains in Atlanta Georgia, and her new trainer feel "the tangibles are there speed, quickness, and power, and the intangibles she has more than her share of, things like courage, determination, and willpower". La la Mariem is a very talented person, with other interest that includes art, and music, and when her boxing career comes to an end she plans to pursue them both. Very devoted to her faith and family the mother of one, the son that serves as her inspiration, she calls him her manager a very good-looking young man that owns his mother heart. Her courage comes from her belief that when God is with you who can fight against you? Standing 5'5" tall this young lady could be model, but she chooses the school of hard knocks, boxing. After time away to take care of her family she has made the commitment to peruse the sport again, and this time has no plans of stopping until she reaches her goal. La la Mariem said that when she resumed her conditioning program it was strictly to get back in shape, but then the fire started to burn again, and now she wants it all a World Champion Ship. Keeping to a strict training regiment, and diet that allows very little time for fun, she fines her fun spending time with her son, and in the ring. Her training schedule entails working out six day a week, with most days twice a day.
