This impressive Junior Lightweight is coming off the biggest year of his young career in 2004
by winning five consecutive fights. In July, Antonio won the most significant fight of his career
by capturing the USBA Regional Title with a sixth round TKO over Bradley Verdin. This title fight
was televised nationally into 40 million homes by Comcast Cable, Fox Network, Sunshine Network,
Madison Square Garden Network, and the Empire Network. In January of 2005, Antonio won the NABO
Junior Lightweight Championship over Donnell Logan with seventh round TKO. Consequently, Antonio
is ranked in the top 7 Junior Lightweight in the world.
The Junior Lightweight Division has traditionally produced some of the largest purses in the sport due to the marquee names who fought in this division (Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Erik Morales). Antonio Davis has proven himself to possess the skill, focus, and determination to contend for a world title. Moreover, world renowned trainer and future Hall of Fame inductee, Ronnie Shields is his trainer. In his own words, Ronnie Shields predicts Antonio Davis will win a world title within the next two years. These comments come from a trainer who has trained 15 world champions to date.
